I Used To Go Downtown!
Rockstar Games sure knows how to work this whole PR thing. They got us all salivating on Sunday with just a color-swap version of their own logo. The very next day, just a red background with a setting sun. Again, no names or real info of any kind. Then, we got a name, and two very important dates. Red Dead Redemption 2 and “Fall 2017” and “Thursday October 20th”. Well Thursday is here, and we get our first official look at the follow up to 2010’s masterpiece.
As is their way, this teaser is sparse on story details, taking the same approach as they did for GTA V’s first reveal. Mostly showcasing glimpses of the world and it’s people, we’re here for the vistas, the desolation and the beauty of Old West.
Along with the promo photo, the teaser ends on a posse riding off into the distance, which gives some weight to the rumours of co-op play or character switching, which again, is a holdover from GTA V. We’ll likely get some more concrete info in the coming weeks before Rockstar goes silent again leading to a full trailer sometime next year, but i’m content to watch that trailer a few dozen times and fire up the original Red Dead Redemption . I suggest you do the same.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for a Fall 2017 release.
