Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer
Let the hype commence! And I don’t mean that in any way as a slight toward Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The original stood out as the first “risk” that Marvel took in their connected universe, aside from attempting one in the first place, and is now the go to response for people trying to denigrate what DC is doing with their cinematic universe. “Marvel made us care about a talking raccoon and a tree…”. So now our underdog story is a mainstream event, but judging by this new trailer, nothing has changed, and that’s just the way we like it.
The teaser, appropriately named a “sneak peek” doesn’t show us much, ya know, as a teaser should. Instead we get flashes of each of the major players from the first movie, and a couple of unexpected team ups. Then there’s the trademark humor, delivered mostly by Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista. Suffice to say, James Gunn and Co. know what we want to see in a Guardians movie, and give us just enough of that familiarity to hold us over. He even tweeted out the new poster, which is very much in line with the rock band undertones of the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters in May of 2017, and now the agonizing wait officially begins.
