Wrasslin’ State of Mined: Hell in a Cell Recap

Ain’t No Half Steppin’

WWE Hell in a Cell descended up Boston, MA on Sunday night. There was the promise of historic matches, blood(less) feuds finally coming to their logical conclusions, and a Triple Main event that would ramp up in brutality as the night went on. In the end, HIAC felt like the company didn’t want to fully commit to any one conclusion, opting instead to have the event feel like a stopgap, using unsatisfying finishes to close out otherwise great match-ups.  Continue reading Wrasslin’ State of Mined: Hell in a Cell Recap

The Walking Dead Review: “The Well”

C’mon Baby, I Gots Me A Tiger

It’s safe to say we needed a bit of a breather after everything that transpired in The Walking Dead’s season 7 premiere last week. Bats to brains has the tendency to take a lot out of you. “The Well”, instead of dealing with the aftermath of the premiere switched over to Morgan and Carol, who last we saw were on the run after Carol was badly wounded in a firefight. The pace was slow, and even though there were a few head scratching moments, “The Well” nicely setup that Negan has his fair share of enemies outside of the ZomPoc All-Stars.

Wrasslin’ State of Mined: RAW Wants to Be All Things, Ellsworth Does A Lil Too Much and TNA is in MORE Trouble (10.26.16)

Get It Right, Get It Tight

I know, it’s the most annoying broken record at the juke joint, but RAW really needs to trim that three-hour run time. I know that USA makes too much ad money with guaranteed viewing to go back to two hours, at least not now, but this past episode of Monday Night RAW, an episode leading into the Hell in a Cell PPV on Sunday, left me wondering just why in the hell did I want to watch that event more than anything else on TV this Sunday. If you’re trying to draw eyes away from the NFL, or The Walking Dead , reminding your audience that you’re just as likely to tread water when you should be doing your best Phelps impression is a good way to lose them.  Continue reading Wrasslin’ State of Mined: RAW Wants to Be All Things, Ellsworth Does A Lil Too Much and TNA is in MORE Trouble (10.26.16)

Agents of SHIELD Review: “Lockup”

Previously, On Oz

The melding of supernatural and sci-fi continued on this weeks Agents of SHIELD. The science ghosts kept on the search for The Darkhold, and Daisy donned he SHIELD uniform for the first time. “Lockup” kept things pretty contained, but the larger implications of not only Robbie’s assistance, but SHIELD Director being an inhuman started to ripple out into the rest of the world. The devils spark is set to light a huge fire.  Continue reading Agents of SHIELD Review: “Lockup”

The Flash Review: “The New Rogues”

The Truth About Honesty

Man, people have a hard time saying how they feel the first time around on The Flash. Of course, it’s used to create conflict, but that’s not a tool you want to overuse. That said, “The New Rogues” was still a fun episode that stepped further away from Flashpoint, and worked as a fairly tight, self-contained episode, while dropping little ice chips in the bucket for the larger story.  Continue reading The Flash Review: “The New Rogues”

The Walking Dead Season Premiere Review: “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”

Headstrong, To Take You On!

***SPOILERS BELOW***

After six months of speculation and rage, The Walking Dead returned with its season premiere to answer, once and for all, who was on the receiving end of Negan’s bat. The anticipation following what many felt to be a cheap cliffhanger, in a season of cheap exploits, was palpable, and hopefully leading to relief. But let’s be real ,this is The Walking Dead, and the closest thing to relief you were going to get in this episode was if you had a sneeze that finally came out after 45 minutes of build up. “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” took your heart, soul and happiness, sat it in a shopping cart, then proceed to kick that cart into the Springfield Gorge.
