Wait, This May Not Suck
You can blame my optimism on how awesome Hannibal was. According to reports over at Deadline, 80’s cult favorite The Lost Boys will be getting the small screen treatment over on the CW. If that doesn’t get your blood pumping, then maybe the news that Veronica Mars and iZombie creator, Rob Thomas will be the creative mind behind the new show.
“Envisioned for a seven-season, anthology-style run, the series will tell a story spanning 70 years, each season chronicling a decade. Season 1 will be set in San Francisco during the Summer of Love, 1967. ” Thomas told Deadline. Which means the show will truly tap into the “immortal” aspect of being a vampire, and in effect, writing their own history.
With their current young, beautiful vampire show, The Vampire Diaries going into its eighth and final season, The Lost Boys is being brought in to fill the void. No further details are known as of yet, but it is safe to assume that a little more millennial brooding will be added ala Teen Wolf to keep with the current crop of TV, but then again, this is the same team that made a pulp detective drama into a generational phenomenon, if only for a couple seasons. So color me a pale shade of excited.
