Wrasslin’ State of Mined: KO Wins the Universal Title, Heath Shows Us His Family Life and Del Rio (Possibly) Leaves WWE

Here We Are, Born To Be Kings

The course correction that feels like it should have been this way all along. By the end of a damn good, four-way elimination match, we had a returning player, a potential double turn between Rollins and Reigns and a new Universal Champion in Kevin Owens. In a move that could easily be chalked up to IWC pandering, or throwing spaghetti at the wall, I think this outcome is one that should make everyone happy, but there’s still just one thing that makes it the tiniest bit bothersome.  Continue reading Wrasslin’ State of Mined: KO Wins the Universal Title, Heath Shows Us His Family Life and Del Rio (Possibly) Leaves WWE

The Least Strange Thing

In news that comes as a shock to no one, except that corner of the internet that gets to everything late and eventually hates it, Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a second season on Netflix. Did Ben Affleck Just Tease Deathstroke In The Justice League Movie?? (UPDATE)

Also, Why Is Deathstroke In This Movie???

*UPDATED*

According to The Wrap, Deathstroke is actually the main villain in The Batman, the Ben Affleck directed, standalone film. Which means the footage tweeted out could be a cameo appearance OR test footage for that upcoming film.

The promotion team over at Warner Bros. must have the motto “screw it, they gotta like something we show em” written on a wall somewhere. That’s the only way to explain how news has been rolled out for the upcoming Justice League film. The news this week, in the wee hours of the morning, current Batman star and producer of the film, Ben Affleck, tweeted out a video of what appears to be the villain, Deathstroke, on set and ready to fight.  Continue reading Did Ben Affleck Just Tease Deathstroke In The Justice League Movie?? Gotham Showrunner Doesn’t Think Superheroes Work Well On TV

He Said On The That Wasn’t SUPPOSED To Have Superheroes

In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterGotham showrunner, Bruno Heller, flat out said the words “I don’t think superheroes work very well on TV”. Now, that quote wouldn’t have been so bad say, two years ago when Gotham first started, and the bare premise was one of a city falling into ruin. There were to be no supervillains, and Gotham PD was going to be at the end of their rope. Which would explain why a guy showing up dressed like a giant bat would make sense. Instead, Gotham has spiraled into an incohesive mess of mythology, character misrepresentation and melodrama, with that quote explaining pretty much all of it.  Continue reading Gotham Showrunner Doesn’t Think Superheroes Work Well On TV

Wrasslin’ State of Mined: Highest Highs, Lowest Lows, and All The Swerves You Can Handle After SummerSlam (08.24.16)

I Need A Cigarette

I learned a lot about myself over the past four days. Namely, that while nursing an ankle injury, I can watch an ungodly amount of wrasslin’ (with UFC 202 mixed in). WWE gave us roughly 15 hours of in ring content starting on Saturday with NXT Takeover II. Overall, the weekend was stellar. NXT set the stage with some fantastic matches that wrapped up or jump started storylines, while highlighting the talent on what could be a downturned time for the developmental federation. After it was all said and done though, we could all admit, that we related to Johnny Knockout a bit more than we would have originally thought.  Continue reading Wrasslin’ State of Mined: Highest Highs, Lowest Lows, and All The Swerves You Can Handle After SummerSlam (08.24.16)
