After months, nay, YEARS of rumor and speculation, writer Paul Feig took to twitter to announce his official involvement with a new Ghostbusters film. He will write the script along with fellow The Heat scribe, Katie Dippold.
It wasn’t long ago that the internet was abuzz with rumors of an all-women cast for a new Ghostbusters film. These rumors coincide with the build-up for the 30th anniversary re-release of the film. Feig’s involvement (and his own tweet) pretty much assure that the rumor may come to life, as his last two theatrical release were both led by women (Bridesmaids and The Heat). No casting is known at this point, but he may call on some of his regulars; Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy.
